As far as I know, the restaurant is the only rice noodles restaurant in Rockville. Rice noodles are chewy and smoothy compared to flour noodles. The restaurant has many broth options. Appetizers are good too. Worth to try!

I came here one night with my boyfriend since they were opened later than most of the other Chinese restaurants in the area and we were both craving crossing bridge noodle soup and saw they were fairly cheap so we wanted to give it a try. This place fairly small and seems more of a quick service type of establishment. The food came out extremely fast and the overall experience was pretty good. Our server seemed really nice and attentive for it just being her in the whole restaurant. I thought that from the pictures on their menu and some pictures on their Yelp page that the toppings would have came on the side so we can customize what we wanted like how it's traditionally suppose to be done but it ended up all coming already precooked and mixed in with the soup. I wasn't sure if it was something you have to specifically ask for or if they don't do that anymore but it wasn't a big deal for us. We also found that some of the topping they ended up adding was quite random and didn't really belong in the soup but they do give quite a bit of different variety to the soup if you like that. We ended up getting both the original and tomato based soup as well as the black fungus and pork chops. Both soups were very fairly good but nothing exceptional and I actually preferred the original over the tomato but overall it wasn't as good as the another original place I've always gone to on Rockville Pike (Mandarin Express). The portion for the noodles wasn't a lot but for what you're paying for, it wasn't bad at all. The black fungus had a very nice portion and was very well sauced and wasn't too overpowering on the vinegar taste and the pork chop was very crispy and not at all dry. We also thought it was interesting that the dipping sauce of choice they served was just a side of ketchup so it was fairly simple but didn't help add to the dish. Overall if you are looking for something quick, simple and fairly cheap I would definitely suggest giving this place a try since it was pretty solid.

One of my favorite places to get a quick bite in Rockville. The taste is authentic and the food is balanced in terms of different kinds of proteins, veggies and carbohydrate in one bowl of noodle.

The restaurant serves only one type of noodle but offers a nice variety of soup combinations. I tried the chicken rice noodle soup and thought it was excellent. The noodle came with chicken and veggies. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. We were offered the choice of cooking the noodle at the table or by the kitchen. We chose to have the noodles cooked for us, but we saw others who had the ingredients brought to the table. It looked like a fun dining experience.

We got a free appetizer for ordering two noodle soups (the deal is posted on a wall in Chinese) so we got the salt and pepper chicken. It was delicious - light and crispy. The Maw old chicken rice noodle soup was good but not as good as Ji Bei Chuan in Germantown (admittedly a high bar). I wish there were more and higher quality toppings (e.g. the ham pieces tasted artificial/processed and other toppings tasted just ok). The portion size is also smaller. But it's good especially if you're in the mood for a light noodle soup.

Cheap delicious soup! I came here specifically for their small plate self serve soup format but sadly they didn't serve it as that way! I prefer putting the ingredients in the soup myself for the experience of doing so and so that I could add the amount I want of some items (customize it to my palette). They may have changed that recently since there were some reviews with the tray format within the past 1 month. It might be something you have to specifically request? I ordered their chicken based soup for $11.

Strip mall with restaurants of Ethiopian, Cuban and Rice Noodle specialty. For lunch today, decided to try Rice Noodle. We were greeted and seated and chose one Original Crossing Bridge Rice Noodle ($10.95) (the fable of the Crossing Bridge is the basis for this soup) and one Maw Old Chicken Rice Noodle ($10.95). We were promptly served water. The server asked if we wanted to have them make the soup or if we wanted to do it ourselves. This being out first time, we didn't have any idea what she was talking about and my partner said "we'll do it." Short time later, the server returned with two trays of fixings/bowl of hot rice noodles. Just a few minutes later came two pots, one with a white broth for my beef/fixins and the other a yellow chicken broth. Not sure what to do, I asked the server if we should simply put everything into the soup. She smiled and said yes. We also got an appetizer that unfortunately came out at the same time as the broths - scallion pancake. More on that later. The Rice Noodle soups were delicious. We put the ingredients into the soup and the meat and shrimps cooked right away. My partner would have preferred chicken without the raw skin still attached, and tried to remove most of it before cooking. But, other than that one preference thing, we enjoyed the soups very much. Huge bowl and we each took some home. The scallion pancake was wonderful. Ok, it was oily (not wet, but texture-wise), but the pancake was crisp, heavy scallion flavor and, for some reason, we both concluded that the oiliness was just fine. Really, I highly recommend. The restaurant is pretty small and got full while we were there. All of the customers (except for us) were Asian and we didn't hear any English spoken during our time there. We enjoyed the food and experience. Despite the language difficulties with the server, she was friendly, helpful and appreciated our business.

When you walk inside you'll feel a strong smell of incense almost like entering into a temple with the decor. Definitely your Hole in Da wall Chinese noodle bar. It's almost impossible to find a bowl of noodles with lots of ingredients for less than $13-$15 pp~ Hahaha so this is your hidden gem if you want a simple hearty yunan noodles. Probably be paying close to $25 per bowl here in Arlington / Alexandria area. The taste is 6.75/10! Definitely not going to get like the freshest ingredients but it's decent. Soup was delicious :) so you do have the option to have them cook it for you or you can cook it on your own. So whatever you choose just let them know when you order. Cute spot and relatively clean kept. Would certainly be back if I'm in the area.

Small restaurant that's easily missed in a strip but the food is 10/10. There's not a ton of parking but I've never had issues finding at least one spot. Lots of options for appetizers and flavor of rice noodle soup base. You have the option of the staff combining all the ingredients or they bring everything out and you can pick and choose which ingredients you want. We got 2 noodles, a scallion pancake and a extra potion of sliced beef for $36 pretax and tip and I was stuffed! The restaurant is pretty small but very authentic and quick service. Love to come here especially on a chilly day.

Really flavorful noodle soup! We decided to come since it was cold and rainy outside and we were craving some form of soup. They have a good range of broths from spicy to non spicy. When you order they have the option to put toppings on the side so you can add as you see fit or they just add it all in one bowl. We were really hungry so we went for the one bowl option. The staff was really nice and the interior was cozy with lots of Chinese paintings. They were really generous with the amount of toppings! These rice noodles are so bouncy and have great slurp value! We basically inhaled our bowls because the flavor was so rich. I'd say that the spicy isn't really that spicy but if you know your tolerance is low then proceeding with caution is still good!
